Does alcohol affect the voice ?

Hey guys,
I've been wondering if alcohol has any affect on the vocal chords or the singing in general, because whenever I drink alcohol, the day after I'm struggeling with holding my support and singing notes properly. It's like my voice has it's own hangover and it's cracking pretty much..

By the way, yes - it's not by chance I'm posting this the day after halloween o:)

Alcohol has a drying effect on the cords, as well as on the entire body. You become more dehydrated. So it's harder, in general, to control all of the things we try to keep stabilized with our singing technique, when we are feeling the effects of yesterday's Halloween party. Plus all of the unsupported singing we did at the drunken goblin's brawl.
