My vocal covers on youtube

KevinGremKevinGrem Pro Posts: 217
This is me singing and playing some covers from one of my favorite bands, MANOWAR, the band that inspired me to start singing.

Personally I think I'm pretty xxxxxxx good, I'm not gonna lie, haha! What do you think?

    @KevinGrem,

    Is that you on Heart of Steel, also?

    Thanks.

    The reason I ask, is we only see your hands on the other videos. Your voice character sounds identical, but your performance in the venue was different.

    Your breath support and pitch were much more accurate on stage than with the recorder running at the upright. Although your vocal characteristics matched, your vocal consistency in the two different locations makes you sound like two different performers. That's why I asked. You were more "on task" at the "real" performance.

    Yes, you do a good job.

    Bravo.

    I'm not sure why that would be. I just do my best whenever I play. Thanks for the compliment

    I agree Bob. You can also hear intonation shifting in the throat on the close-up piano vids and a big lack of diaphragmatic support. You can also hear over shifting of the vowels which is costing rock solid pitch. Some of that can be do from simply sitting instead off standing when singing...

    Good Job, @Poon_summit

    You're doing the song a half-step lower than the original. You need to use more breath support to hold back the air on those high notes. You're pushing those notes out pretty hard. It's better to cut back the air and rely on your diaphragm for strength. Your pitch is good and your tone is pretty good for this song. To get it up in the key of G minor you will have to thin your vocal tone down some and really get a handle on cutting back the air.

    All the Best!
