Hi Ken I am on Stage 3 your course is amazing and has transformed my voice! In technical terms over a matter of years could ever hope to achieve such a seamless mix voice as Adam Lambert has in this particular video? Is he using a similar vocal technique to yours ken? His range/power/smoothness through the passagio is truly astounding! Do you think you will do an online video on Adam Lambert's voice/songs? Thanks again Ken :)

    Hey Myleskennedyfan,

In answer to your question, yes Adam and I use similar techniques however I like a little more "girth" to my sound and then shed that weight as I go up

(more like the original Sam Cook version of A Change Gonna Come you can see here  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gbO2_077ixs )

If you also notice, Adam is singing it in a much lower key thasn the original.

Steve Perry emulated a "rounder" sound in the mid voice like Sam and in fact when you hear this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mRt0d1O4tiE  This is (in a different way) a blatant "influence" of a Change Is Gonna Come.

Notice the vocal licks are VERY Sam Cook. But also notice Sam has much more girth (bigger) sound. This is achieved through open throat. Steve also does a great job on this here.
