Applying methods to songs

I have read some posts about using the "Ah" vowel to replace lyrics in song repertoire. What other techniques should be used for applying the KTVA method to songs? Thanks

You Remove all consonants when you practice on the AH. Then after getting the melody perfected on the ah, including vowel modifications, you then use all of the actual Vowels of the song, still not adding consonants. Finally, after getting that worked out, you add back in only as much consonants as you really need to make the song sound intelligible.

This process makes a huge difference in how you can perform songs. You do it line-by-line, and work out all of the inconsistencies in the songs. The reason you do this, is it forces you to use the training that you work on in KTVA in order to see the relationship of the vowels to being able to actually pull the song off.

It looks and sounds gorfy, but it is really where you learn to put the rubber to the road!

When you have completed the step withthe actual song vowels (step 2 of 3) do you then add consonants to all the lines of the song at once or do that phrase by phrase?

After you have gone through the whole song, line by line without consonants, you can put them back in all the way through, but remember to only put back the minimum amount of consonants that you HAVE TO use in order to make it intelligible again.

Remember, this is singing, and singing is very different from the enunciation we use when we speak. You are looking to use as much contiguous vowel singing with only very light consonants, from now on. This will make your singing much more sonorous.
