Hi Ken this might seem like a random question, but I know you have previously stated that doing sit ups can hinder the ability to use the diaphragm effectively when singing. I work out a lot, but i do something called planking demonstrated in this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2AGOgTLvTg8&feature=related , instead of sit ups- will doing this reduce my ability to utilise my diaphragm when singing?

Actually what I said was thst the abdominal structure can become tense and "lock up" because the nature of push ups (and planking...and yes I know what it is) which can inhibit your ability to relax between phrases.

Ironically, "sit ups" have a VERY similar sensation to using your abdominal cavity when you sing.

This would be great IF you can learn to "completely" relax between each "sit up".

So it would be with using your abdominal support mechanism for singing.
