Never giving up (Of mice and Men cover) First Verse

I am starting to learn how to sing the clean vocals (Aaron Pauley) to "Never Giving Up" by Of Mice and Men. This is from their album Restoring Force:Full Circle. I was able to break down the first verse and sing with vowels only before singing this whole verse with consonants added. Please give me some feedback if this needs improvement. I'm thinking about singing this at a party CSF (Christian Student Fellowship) is having at UK.

@ALEXDEITEMEYER how are you? you are going to hard through consonants I would do the exact opposite, try to not over emphasize them, also I would watch this video, were Ken actually explains how to maintain the shape of the vocal tract open the whole time, since your pronunciation is closing more and more your throat
this will really help you if you pay close attention to everything he says :)

Thanks. It can be frustrating when you think your emphasizing the vowels more when you’re really not. That explains why I occasionally struggle with the chorus.@Gaston_Jauregui

Keep thinking "contiguous phrase singing". Sing the vowels. Lightly touch the consonants, almost as if they aren't really there. The phrases become long slabs of musical vowel sounds.

Consonants chop up those slabs into little pieces that are not as pleasing to the ear. Smooth it out into long, smooth slabs.
