Re: Stage fright
it's normal to a degree, some people have it more than others. being well prepared, and knowing you know the material well helps with confidence. you can also do breathing exercises like box breathing (breathe in for 4 sec, hold 4 sec, breathe out for 4 sec, hold 4 sec, repeat) or similar calming techniques to calm down… -
Just growing muscles or body building for better resonance?
Hi @highmtn Just as Opera singers grow body mass to improve their vocal resonance, I understand body bulding can have that effect on the voice too. My question is if just putting on 4, 5 kgs of muscle can also have an effect on resonance too if or one has to put on much more weight for that to happen. Thaks a lot! -

Singing higher in chest voice
Hi everyone! I am a new singer and I recently saw the video of Ken Tamplin about the belt or call register which is when you sing higher than around a C4 note. I was wondering if that is in pure chest voice or is it a sort of chesty mix? Because I struggle singing over a C#4 in pure chest voice. Can someone also recommend… -
Re: hello everyone
in addition to the advice from @doc_ramadani , be kind to yourself, try to enjoy little things like nice food etc and try to appreciate the now. adopt a healthy and balanced lifestyle, think of picking up meditation, exercises, reading and stuff like that. if you have a panic attack, try box breathing: 4 seconds in, hold… -

Re: INFJs song feedback thread (40+ songs and counting)
Here is one that felt fairly suitable. This was a rare 1st take occasion actually. I changed some of the note selections. In the end there are a lot of changes. I can drop to D3 (it's in the scales above) but D4 is more comfortable and less of a risk that I mess the whole song up. I just improvised in the end. I am… -
Joy of My Life - Chris Stapleton
Hey Everyone! How am I doing singing this song? I want to improve the tonal quality in my voice. I want to be more soulful. I know this is more country style, but Chris has a unique tone that evokes emotion. I want to have that same effect, but with more roots in soul, not country. https://youtube.com/shorts/DBLK6Tz7j-4… -
Re: in Week 2 of Volume 1 - Want some advice
Very well done. Good head register work with easy side transitions from chest, along with consistent tone and volume. Work on stronger support (especially needed for the belting notes at the end). Go ahead and start listening to the vibrato lessons (a little gospel jaw, maybe a little bit forced instead of completely… -
Re: Geddy Lee tone - practice tips?
You're talking about doing vocal exercises as if you are the voice you're impersonating? That might not be a good idea as it could "burn in" bad habits. They are designed to develop your own voice so you can do whatever you want with it. Vol 4 (head) and Vol 5 (mixed) would have to be mastered to sound like Geddy. Maybe… -
Re: Have been trying to improve for a long time - many vocal programs have failed me.
