Slightly confused on shedding weight/mixed voice/smaller sounds
I know everyone kinda feels things differently when singing in terms of placement etc... As I continue to try and break the bad habits I was taught earlier on and beat into muscle memory the good habits, sometimes I think I get a little tripped up on the terminology..... I just watched Ken's video on David Coverdale where… -

Re: Bruce Dickinson - Gypsy Road
I am not among the experienced users here so cannot give very detailed feedback, but I think you are doing great! I compared this to an Iron Maiden live performance in Chile and it's similar. Good tone. Good pitch. I would just make the vocals more present in the mix. Now it seems the instrumentation is kind of taking over. -
Re: Head voice is gone/no sound coming out for months
Thank you! @Klaus_T However, the speech therapist doesn't know how to help me. The breath and resonance exercices she gives me hurt my voice immediately and they cause more pain. I really dont know how i ever get rid of this pain when talking and if i ever get my head voice back. The speech therapist says she doesn't know… -
Re: Hi Ken, divas, dudes - I have a question for you guitar players please!
Hi Vanessa, Playing guitar to accompany your singing is a great idea, and one that will surely be inspiring and bring a lot of joy. The guitar brands you mentioned are all notable manufacturers who make quality instruments at various price points. Having a cutaway is very beneficial when navigating the upper register of… -
Re: grateful for any feed back on the files below.
For a first, that's pretty impressive. Here are some tips: - Try to make the words clearer, especially the consonants. That's really important! It lets people understand what you're singing more. The clearer the words, the more impact it will have on others. - I'm not familiar with these songs since I listen to only a few… -

Re: Cover copyright problem
Well there are Licens for Private use and Licens for public use. And normaly the Karaoke has a licens for Private use. What would work is if you make something Else out of it. Like for example "can't Touch this" and "kinky gir" or. "ICE ICE baby" vs "underpressure" I think it's that way but I never covered in public -
Re: Dancing On My Own by Calum Scott: Feedback
I love the dynamics in the first half and I don't see much to improve on this one, @michaelmusic In case you don't think of it this way, you're way past having to do anything to prove your range. I'm not saying you do here, but just saying it out loud in case. On that note, how about putting some of those dynamics in "I'm… -
Re: Need a Feedback for Scales and Vowel Modificatiol (Audio in the message)
I admire the courage it takes to be that raw. What you're doing right is backing off the volume to navigate your passagio. When you get all the elements of your form down, you'll still need to do that to gain strength. However, your vowels are not formed correctly nor are you supporting (there's a lot to it, but most of it… -
How do I learn to make those vocal sounds Cheb Mami sings in Deser Rose?

Geddy Lee tone - practice tips?
Hey all, my question refers to this video by Ken: https://youtu.be/09VGsd6KvQ0?si=nZi2IRogDyiAJgSy I’m the Geddy in a Rush tribute band. I’m trying to get closer to his vocal style. How would you adjust the vocal exercises to emulate his voice? He holds back quite a bit (compression, mask?) Are there adjustments or… -
Re: INFJs song feedback thread (40+ songs and counting)
Nick, All your links work except the all-important AH Scales (neither of the two links work.) You'd get the best feedback from that link, alone, for many reasons. I'd even recommend posting it in its own thread so people know exactly what you want them to listen to and it will only take them a minute or so to listen. Your… -
Inhalation and exalathion doubts
I've been told by Ken to summit my question here, so here we go. I started singing two years ago and lately i've been followed by a vocal coach. No doubts she's great, She has a strong and refined voice, but for some reason i find some controversial regarding the breathing skills required to perform. From my point of view… -

Re: “Eh” and “Ah” vowels Falsetto
@treyodell Does your larynx rise or descend on these vowels? Sing "ooh-oh-ah-aye-ee" and feel your larynx. A lowered larynx makes the head voice more breathy. The course advises keeping a neutral larynx position throughout, including head-voice. Also, use only as much air as needed for the voice to "ping." -
Re: Beautiful Crazy - Luke Combs
Hi Michael. It's been a while. Hope you're doing great. It's always good to see toi there. I've not been around here for a little while. Your lesson with Ken was last week, right? I guess that he gave a lot to chew on. I saw your question about distortion. Ken did a webinar a on that this month. Have you seen it? The first…
