Creating Melodies with Vocal Range

Just starting on the writing of melodies for the next set of songs I have recorded. Just wanted to people's process and take on what you do to create a melody that fits your vocal range and still have a great sound with a powerful melody. What's your process in writing songs with the melody in mind.

    Hi @PlanetCool,

the range in which a singer feels most comfortable is called "Tessitura". When you ask a singer to sing some notes (s)he will most probably sing in her/his Tessitura.

When I write melodies for my originals I start either start with some chord changes and hum to them or if I came up with some cool lyrics I start with the melody first and harmonize them afterwards.
