Otherside (Red Hot Chili Peppers) Cover - Mix Sounds Chestier Than Usual

Dear KTVA,

I just completed a cover of Otherside by Red Hot Chili Peppers, one of my all-time favourite bands, just for old times memories sake as well as to practice my call register. I notice that as I used brighter vowels, my mix seems to cut through and sound edgier:
