What volume exercise is the best for warming up before shows/rehearsals?

Most people who have done the whole program like to do Volume 2 before a gig. Volume 3 can wear you down a bit and "use up" some of your vocal energy (until you have been doing it so long so well that that is no longer an issue for you.

With Volume 2, it's less difficult and you should still have plenty of vocal energy left for your performance.

The last thing you want to do is use up the best of your voice on a tough workout, and then sound spent at the gig.

After you've been doing Volume 3 workouts for a year or two, you'll be able to do them without tiring before a gig.

Ken does something similar to Volume 3 every day before he records or does skype lessons. He warms up for about 70 minutes, then starts his singing workday.
