When I sing few songs at top of my chest register, I find it hard to sing in Mixed Voice after.

Is this an issue? Am I doing something wrong?

    Hard to say without a video, but you very well may be singing too loud and/or with too much unregulated air (i.e. lack of closely-metered support)

    I see. You're right I can't sing high chest notes without singing too loud.

    In other words my overall tone sounds thicker & heavy after singing top of my chest.

    What should I do to sing my top chest notes quieter?

    Which VOL are you at? In VOL3, Ken teaches glottal compression, which is basically the ultimate form of support and breath control. You have to learn to 'thin' the sound as you climb higher in chest voice, using all the tools such as support, vowel mods, reducing air flow, keep volume as loud as necessary, cord closure etc.
