Hi, I am a 33 year old man from Sweden. I have been playing the guitar and singing more or less whole my life, and I have become good at the guitar but I really struggle with the singing. I began to take singing-lessons a while ago. My biggest problem with my voice is that it has a tendency so sound wimpy/childish/thin, and also off pitch... I hope that I succed in making my voice sound more thick and powerful!

My voice was the same as yours when I started a year ago. There was no power in my voice. I couldn't get high enough to sing the songs I liked, and had trouble holding pitch.
That is all behind me now with the exception of some songs are still too high for me, but day by day I get closer. (By high I'm talking about guys like Rik Emmet from Triumph, or Derek St. Holmes from Ted Nugent high)
I'm pretty confident that I can say you are going to love what happens to your voice as you go through this course. If you have any problems, this is the place to ask.
