    He says no on one of his videos and can tune his guitars from sheer familiarity with the timbre of the strings.

    I can do the same and also do not have perfect pitch (thank God.)

    When he hears a high note, he will say something like "isn't that a B5? Then he hits a B5 on his guitar, and yep, it's a B5.

    He has spent so much time working on each and every note, that he recognizes them as notes he has practiced singing, and remembers what that note is.

    I'm of the opinion that it can be developed with respect to your primary instrument. That appears to be what Ken has done with both guitar and voice.

    how do i learn this skill to tune a guitar without tuner,i already have good relative pitch,not highest level relative pitch though.i am a pianist though

    Hi

    Not sure is the answer to that one - its very close - pick a note and ask him what the note is would be my answer lol x

    Why are people so fascinated with people having perfect pitch lol x Although a fly buzzes in F lol x I haveny heard a fly buzz out of key yet lol x Only the note did go a bit dodgy when i swatted one lol x

    All I can say is the more you practise and familarise yourself with notes then it does become 2nd nature .

    Why, friend? Many many musicians don’t have it.

    The funny thing is I’m finding with my warm-up exercises, I normally start at A3, & I’m often spot on, or within a semitone!
