Will mucus and clearness of respiratory tract affect your singing?

My nose is always semi-clogged by mucus and is never fully clear of it (prob some sort of medical condition though it doesn't affect my breathing too much), does it affect my ability to sing, especially high notes/ transition into and out of the passagio? Thanks for the answer 😄

    If it's confined to the nose, I'm going to say it's not a problem, though that does sound annoying. A good nasal rinse may help with that. The only issue is if there's enough mucus that is overflows into the throat. Feels awful, definitely affects the passagio, and generally makes singing well near impossible. Speaking from experience on that one :#

    Totally get where you're coming from. I used to have the same issue, and I found that it made hitting high notes and smooth transitions a bit trickier. I started using a saline nasal spray, and it helped a lot. Also, steaming my face over a bowl of hot water before singing made a noticeable difference. It’s not a cure-all, but it definitely helped me get a bit more clarity.
