You’re not doing any vowel modifications. Another thing is that you’re singing loud. I’ve been doing some work with one of the vocal coaches, who encouraged me to sing much more gently, as it allows the throat to modify more easily. Once it does this correctly, you can add more pressure.
It’s just like speaking loudly or quietly, but you’re singing. When you’re quieter, it’s easier for the cords to sort themselves out. This is quite new to me, but it’s cool to experience!
