No problems @charlie_v . I had other things to do so have not logged in for a while either. It could very well be that. In fact I think this is the most likely issue. I dont think I have any significant problems with nasality, phonation or pitch, but with the support I am not sure. It may also explain why I have enormous problems with consonant clustres. I may not have enough strength to hold the line so to speak.
Since I have never been hoarse or even sore after these high songs and long practise hours I think the support is probably there in some form, but not enough for the specific things I like to do. As I mentioned earlier I have a pretty bad back injury, which affects the left side of the abdomen. Using this musculature heavily makes the area uncomfortable, which might cause me to hesitate. But I don't know for sure how much that plays in to it and how much of it is that I have not figured everything out yet.
The coaching session does not come up on my screen when logging in. But Charlie's link works.
Bee Gees - You Win Again (+2 keys). Even with the key change this stays just under the problematic areas. Usually it is around the B4 when things become more difficult to handle. I didn't feel or hear any significant issues with this song.
Rock Music (Jefferson Starship cover). Original key. This song is actually very high, compareable to "Jane" by the same band. But Mickey Thomas is blending with a lot of headvoice when it hits 5th octave notes, which is easier to do. I backed off from pulling a lof of weight up in the 5th octave.
@INFJ Nick you need to move over to the new platform: this one isn’t being used.
For You Win Again, once again it sounds like you have little support, & that introduces a strained sound.
You know the support is from your lower abdomen. It should feel like you’re trying to do a poo!
Once tip I discovered is to bend my knees. If you do this, you’ll find it really easy to bear down, applying the correct pressure. You’ll then discover if you don’t lock your knees but have a tiny bend, you can still bear down. Gives it a go!
PS can’t promise I’ll see more posts here: please move across!
I was kicked out of discord before the username wasn't even active. Supposedly for breaking "terms of use". I did not break the terms nor have I done that in the past since I never had a Discord account. These robot/AI detection systems have gone completely out of hand. They need fine tuning.
Anyway - I have some new songs for those who are still here on the old forum. Who stays until the bitter end?
I re-recorded Land of Confusion (Genesis) in the original key. I think it turned out well actually. Better than the first recording for sure. The 2023 attempt had a lot of shouting and screaming, pitchy in parts. Now it felt and sounded much smoother up to the Bb4 and still relying on chestvoice only. There must be a difference during the last months. I managed to scale back on the muscle mass a bit and likely opened the throat more (not enough probably, but it is going in a good direction at least). Notes resonate much better know.

I will have a look.
The old platform will eventually go dark?

Also English Eyes by Toto. One of my top 5 favourite songs actually.

One Spanish song also. La Incondicional (Luis Miguel). I did some things of my own since I was mostly familiar with live versions of this song.
