Tongue Tension

Hello from Myanmar

When i do scale, approaching C4 and D4, the tongue tends to pull the larynx up and creates an arch in the mouth. Why is that happening and how do I keep the tongue flat all the way up in my range?

Thank you

  • It is happening because you are tensing against what you know is coming ... the "hard" note. Focus on keeping your tongue touching the back of your lower teeth.
