Frustrated with voice

I'm trying to sing classic rock and I'm frustrated with my voice, either sounds nasally and monotone even though I try to shake it up but overall I'm not thrilled with it. It doesn't even sound like the usual rocker ladies out there. Look at it this way you listen to this you'd be begging me to get OFF the stage vs staying on it!

What am I doing wrong?

Yes @LoneWolfRogue You do have student status, but there are sections here that are for students only, and members aren't allowed to see those. This is a members section.

Student sections start with the "Pro" category, and stop at the "VOLUME 5" category I do believe. It may go beyond volume 5, but to be safe, anywhere in those areas will do.

That wasn't bad for a first posting. If you do this song again in 6 months from now you are going to see some great changes that take place.

Right now your voice is a little weak, and airy, but you have pitch, and timing, and that is a great start.

Just give yourself some time with the exercises, and your voice will start making noticeable changes soon.

Yes, do your exercises (scales) 5-6 days a week, and in the beginning, watch the instruction video with Ken Before you do them if you have the time. If not, try to watch them the night before.

As you do the exercises, and get used to using the techniques described, and demonstrated in the instruction video, it will start coming together, and you will notice improvements here, and there. Some improvements will seem big while some will seem small, but the small ones add to big ones, and the big ones get you closer to the big picture.

Just be consistent with your exercises, and really concentrate on what it is you are trying to accomplish.

My big goal is a classic rocker voice and maybe even courage to try performing see if it's a calling

I don't want to try performing until the problem goes away, no sense in being the next big YouTube blooper sensation lol

Ok I'll give it a whirl and keep at it, think the exercises will help on the nasal problem?

Yes, Keep at it. It is well worth the effort. You'll get to that rocker voice if you keep at it, and if you work hard enough you can go beyond. It's all up to you.

By the way, you're also allowed to have fun while you do this stuff. ha ha
Go out and be that youtube blooper, and then over time you can be a youtube sensation.

I will work very very hard at it that you can count on and you know never thought much on beyond but if in God's will I'd like to go far on it. Think this work in progress can really make it?

Lol well in that case for my family's sake and for this to happen I'll keep wearing the stage make-up lol just in case lol a Christian Version of KISS haha

As you can tell my family influence is very strong and I want to not only accomplish this dream but I don't want to be an embarrassment to them so I figure I hide my identity they won't have to worry about it
