Zoom Q8 video recorder

Anyone ever heard of this? It has XLR inputs and records audio and video tracks separately. Not too expensive, either (compared to almost all other video cams with XLR input). @videoace

To be honest, I do not think you need something like this. Do it like Bob suggested it: Record your audio with the computer. Learn to mix it well and than use you mobile phone to record a video, mimicking singing. Then put it together on the computer. This way I will do it.

@doc_ramadani @HuduVudu @Furious_Phil. @iking wouldn't recording a separate video after the audio recording is done look weird? It would be almost impossible for my lip movement to exactly match the audio recording. Right? Or am I missing something. Am I using the same video recording that I sang on and just muting audio portion of the video? I'm confused.

It is a webcam you record video with it. It also has audio but the audio for webcams is usually crap, but the video is 720p 15fps this should be plenty good for what you are trying to do. You have your Sure mic you can use that for your audio feed. Use OBS to tie the audio and video together. You can even use OBS to add other video to the output.

Michael, I was talking about you videorecording the actual event of you doing an audio recording on a DAW, LIVE (not overdubbed) and then putting the mix/DAW Audio onto the video in a video editor. It's the SAME audio event but the DAW will get a much better, controllable audio recording, which you can then load onto your video editor. Use the original sound of the video recording to synchronize the time of the DAW recording onto the same event that you recorded on Video. Mute the video's original audio track and instead use the pristine audio of the DAW.
Don't mime or lip sync it. Just Record it on your DAW WHILE you Video-record the whole thing. Throw out the low-fi version of the same demo and instead use the better-quality audio. Use multiple cameras if you want. Just record it all at once and then put the better audio (same performance, just from the DAW) on your final cut of the video.

It's a LIVE recording that way, with great audio and great video.

@Michael4000 , if you clap or make a percussive noise in the beginning, the syncing will be really easy, you just align those two peaks. that's why they use that thing (I think it's called a clapperboard) at the beginning of a film scene.

@HuduVudu what program do you recommend I use to record video (PC/Windows)? OBS? Or were you just recommending OBS for the editing?

@Michael4000 OBS isn't an editor. You can use Blender (it is open source) for editing, even though it bills itself as a 3D studio most people use it for video editing. OBS is a way to pull multiple video/audio feeds together and then push the result to either a file or to a stream. Here is a beginners tutorial on how to use it.
