Laryngitis advice.

I’ve been learning to sing/singing for years. Suddenly I have a case of laryngitis for a week. I’ve had to cancel some shows due to it. I sing mostly blues folk and enchanted rock. I don’t scream but I have been on the phone a lot and I have a few allergies. I don’t think it’s gerd or a virus. How can I heal my larynx? Thanks

I am am medical doctor. I am sorry to tell you that you should take a vocal rest for 2 weeks and then start singing again very lightly. I can not recommend to you to continue singing with a laryngitis. You can really damage your vocal cords when singing with laryngitis. You might be able to sing again in 2 weeks but it may take longer to fully recover.
