High notes

In one of the Ken's videos he said that if you always sing certain notes heavy, then you will forever sentence yourself to singing heavy. Is there really no come back from that? Just getting used to singing notes heavy enough to forever sentence yourself to singing that way?
If that's so, how can I tell, that I reached the point, when I can't come back? Pretty much all of my call register notes I sing only heavy. And I really can't sing them lightly. My head voice starts to sound scratchy in the middle notes (Db4, E4, F4 - I'm a baritone). But when I'm going higher (F#4, G4 and higher) it sorta clears up and my head voice sounds clear again.

we want to learn how to control our voice in every mean. Over time you will learn how to control the power you need in your upper chest register. But this really takes time.
