It's The LAH video question

Hi I have been going through the LAH video several times to get all the info I can and I've noticed the at 3:45 Ken says to maintain the integrity of the vowel LAH to build range. etc but them at 6:15 he starts to modify it to LOFT. Is this a mistake as it seems to be a contradiction. If i maintain the integrity of LAH should it not be LAH to my highest note not modified to LOFT as I go into head voice, etc? Thanks!
