Compressing Air

So I have seen Ken Tamplin's videos on glottal compression and distortion, but I still don't understand how to physically compress the air and what it feels like to do so

Also, I have been asking a lot of questions as I have just discovered the forum page. I just wanted to clear up some stuff that I've been confused about for a while

This is a very complex subject to try and explain if you don't have a rock solid foundation. Most of us students don't even touch it until after a year or even longer on the course. In a nutshell it's the ability to hold back so much of your air that you can sing long powerful notes without blowing out your voice, distortion takes it a step further as you cut back your air even more!
Like I said though without first being able get a bright ping and growing your resonance through support, it's very possible you can hurt yourself trying to achieve the sound.
If you really want to use it, I suggest growing a powerful clean tone first.
