Posture for vocal cords?

When I lying face up on the floor and breathing, my vocal cords soothe out after a few minutes. But when I get up and go about my day talking they become very sore. Is it possible that posture can really make or break the health of my vocal cords? Also, lying down my rib cage is naturally expanded, so is it that I have to keep my rib cage expanded the entire day?
Thanks

the expanded ribcage is a prerequisite for good support, which you need to keep your vocal chords from damage. yes it is possible that posture is the key here. try to hold on to the sensation of the expanded ribcage when you are standing up, and do everything you know about support during the day when you speak as much as possible
