Are whistle screams safe?

Hi! I’m new so forgive me if anything is out of sorts. I was curious on people’s thoughts about what I’ve heard referred to as “whistle screams”. I know them from Bon Jovi songs like I’ll be there for you (and many more off the New Jersey album). I wanted to know if those are safe to do, and if there is any free information on YouTube or the internet about them. I saw Kens videos about distortion and fry, but that seems a little different than Jon Bon Jovi’s screams. Thanks!!

There is no blanket answer for that. If you want to provide a sample then we can tell you if that sample sounds safe or not safe. There may be some "whistle screams" that are safe, but chances are that you are taking risks of hurting your voice. Whistle voice is essentially a parlor trick anyway, and if you are screaming loudly and using that register, you could hurt your voice.
