Hi singers,
I've just started practicing volume 1 vowel and vowel modification ('It's the Lah' etc.).
I have a quick question: where are you supposed to place the sound when doing these practices? In the front, middle or back (towards the soft palette) of the mouth?
Any experienced singers out there, please help.
Thank you.
Happy singing.

Then upload a set of your scales in the student area we can give you feedback on what you are doing right and wrong.
Welcome to the course
I recommend you practice yawning, as that way you can effortlessly connect your chest and your head voice, even without any training. Just yawn like you do when you're really tired, and try to identify that feeling of the throat being open, as that is the key to bridging chest and head. As for placement, once your throat is beginning to open, you will gain more resonance from your nasal cavity, in addition to the space in your mouth.
Do this carefully with a low volume, and then gradually increase the force and the volume as you get more confident. But remember to not go faster than your body can handle. Hope this helps
Happy singing!
