Airbourne singer technique - Crazy!

I just want to know how the hell can Joel O'Keeffe perform year after year and record those amazing albums without destroying his voice.

I know we use (at KTVA) the open throat technique which is very different compared to Joel's, but he must have some special skills to do that screams without destroying it. It sounds to me like he is using a kind of resonance on the mouth (if you know what I mean) instead of a hyper glottal compression kind of 'safe' distorsion.

Check this video of his isolated voice. It's insane!

Thanks!

I'm not an expert on distortion, I'm only learning it my self. It's definately gnarly, some parts sound squeezed yet others appear more open. I reckon he's using hyper glottal compression as well.
