sounding good, Michael. seems effortless how you reach these high notes. maybe you could play the song a little bit slower, it seems a little bit rushed (to me anyway)

After hearing a lot of your work now, I’d say you should rework the intro and the help me help meeee at the end. I know you can do it much better but I think the rest of it sounds good

@Klaus_T @sjonrokz4u thanks for your feedback. Something seems a bit off to me with this one, but I can't quite put my finger on it. What do you think I could rework on the intro and ending?

The beginning sounds different to the original, are you changing it up on purpose? Also the pleases aren't at the original pitch, or the note value doesn't match the key you're in if that makes sense?

@Wigs There are a ton of harmonies in this song, so I have to choose which part to sing as a single singer. And some of them are really high (and I've already lowered the key of the entire song)

Here’s my thinking on the first part. Get the intervals closer together. On the end I don’t know I’d have to work with it but at a glance it sounds like maybe your switching from one persons harmony to another’s. If I’m right try sticking to one persons harmony and I think I’m my book that wold clean it up at the end

I agree with @sjonrokz4u Even though you lowered the key, the parts where the harmonies would normally be are out of key to my ears. I dont know much about music theory but im guessing even a harmony has a root note connected to the key?

@Michael4000 there is absolutely nothing wrong with it but for some reason to me it does not grab me in the way some of your other songs do. Could just be me. @Wigs - sorry I did not mean to write that comment above to you and I edited it.

It's tough to sing a song that is built around background vocals and just drop them off. The verse melody is largely-comprised of sing-songy, repeated same notes so there isn't much to listen to except the story. Dropping the key down causes a loss of urgency in the story as well.

I feel like you should try to work the song out in the original key, but it will still need more vocalists to fill-in the missing pieces of this song that give it its identity.

Even the Beatles would sound weak on the falsetto parts unless all of the harmony parts are there. Like on Ticket to Ride, at the end. All of those "My baby don't care" lines sound weak except for the fact that there is a strong backup from the other two, and they doubletracked in the studio, to boot. They worked on these songs in the studio over and over again before they finished the versions we have all become familiar with.

So the "Please, please, help me" parts need more backing to sound better. If you don't have additional singers to help out, you have to decide whether to belt them out or sound like 2/3 of the singers are missing.

If you are wanting this to be a singalong, then the lower key may be OK so that others can sing along.

A better singalong song is Hey Jude, where everybody is used to singing along on the Nah-nah part at the end.

I think you are doing an OK job with the vocal, but the missing vocal parts and lowering of the key take it down a notch in appeal and excitement.

@highmtn @sjonrokz4u Thanks for your feedback, and great points Bob. This last version i recorded was actually only a half step below the original Beatles recording.

@Michael4000 I thought you did a really good job on this! I agree with Bob about the key but this is a tough one to sing in the original key for sure so I can understand you lowering it to something a little more comfortable for your voice.
