The concavong comes over time and keeping your tongue in the right place between your lower teeth and jaw. No the tongue exercise is not for that

It's going to feel really weird to get your tongue in the right placement. Best way to do it is to sit in front of a mirror and try to copy the tongue placement image. Once you get it then you'll know the way it's supposed to feel when you're not practicing in a mirror. It took me almost a year to get it. I would get too comfortable and keep reverting back to the wrong way. Just keep a mirror near by when practicing to keep yourself accountable

I really think a “concave” tongue is more an artifact of doing other things correctly. If you are performing the phrase “it’s the lah-ah” correctly and carrying the same sensation that phrase produces into your scales, the tongue should take care of itself. I don’t think you can accurately reproduce the “lah-ah” sound without having the tongue in the correct position. My advice is to listen closely to how Ken performs it and emulate him as best you can.

Since you got the course, you should get your student access here. There you will see a whole other level of the forum. Once your in read all the FAQs in the various categories as well.
