Hey everyone,
This is my first time checking out the forums. I've been practicing my vocals for about 4 months now. I started in February. I wanted to showcase my improvement and hopefully get some tips on what to focus on. I am currently on Volume 2 doing the 23 exercises daily. I also have noticed that I can match pitch fairly well when playing a song in the background as you'll see in the videos but when I try singing alone I miss almost every note......It's really bad and I am not sure how to fix this. I've started to just turn down the volume of the songs so I can focus more on my own voice rather than imitating. Please, let me know if y'all can think of another way of working on this!

Hi Michael
Had a listen to both versions really good starting point pitch wise, heard you hit yodel slightly on the higher parts. But marked improvement on the 2nd try improved support much more strength in the sound excellent progress in as short space of time.

Keep up the good work!
what you experience with the backing track versus singing alone, you can trick yourself, thinking you are much better when you sing along to the original vocals. it sounds better because there is the other voice supporting yours. you can use karaoke tracks instead and see how it works then. you can also try to get isolated vocals, sheet music etc for the songs you are working on, and really work on all the small details. however, in the beginning, it is actually much more important to focus on the workouts, there is so much stuff that needs addressing, that singing songs can distract you and embeds bad habits rather than helping you progress. not to take the fun out of singing songs, by all means do it, but where possible, set your priorities accordingly.
Greetings Maxim
In time you'l be able to focus more less will throw you off able to hear through the music and adjust to different keys more easily.
