The more you sing the more balanced you become when changing tune or vocals. I sing a lot of male songs my vocal tone fits better. I can do guns n roses and skid row more now than before. Why even with blown voice or cold I stuck to my exercises. Took 2 weeks before my blown voice healed. Now I'm more open in ranges more mid more bass tone. Now also I sing rush better and can stick to the song. Lessons, Is the song that took me a 3 months to accomplish. If you smoke then take off singing you'll need to readjust vocals. For some who has sang for years even their tones change through out time of no singing.

You will need to slowly get back into your exercises and work your voice to get back to when you stopped. Its the same as sport or fitness, if you dont work out, you lose ability during that time but getting it back is no problem if you are smart and patient.
