    Hi @thedude838,

Safe and healthy singing is about managing the tension in our bodies. Most of the work is done by the large abdominal muscles, and we aim to relax the chest and throat. Although we do grow our throat muscles to sing properly, it is more a matter of resiliency and flexibility, and of staying open while we sing through the passaggios, than bulking them up.

Singing well and healthily is, unfortunately for those of us with physical limitations, extremely physically demanding. You will be building up strength in your abdomen. As you realise, we can't give medical opinions here, but we can suggest strongly that you speak to your GP and talk it through with them.

I'm sorry you have to deal with this, but I am hopeful that you will find a way to pursue your dreams in spite of it. Best wishes to you.

You should definitely talk to your doctor about this and maybe a specialist as well. Don't want you hurting yourself

@Elara @LindseyBean thanks for the response, i’ll have to speak with my doctor about it and see what he says. I think I should be fine though.
