Im trying to learn to add some vocal compression in my voice. Does it sound like compression?

I don't know about using hyper-glotal compression for distortion, because I am unable to add distortion to my voice. However, I suggest an audio with the background higher so we can hear. Consider trying to do a clean sound first to see if you are able to cut back air effectively and then dirty it up. Sounds good overall though, but not my area of expertise. Keep posting!!

It would be good to have the vocals louder just to help us hear you better. I reckon the tone is good and it sounds like you use better support on bigger vowels like aw an oh, the ee sounds a bit more throaty and squeezed which can become a bad habit. A safe sound will use minimal air, I can't quite tell how much you are holding back but I think you are heading in the right direction. A few tweaks will help with the longevity of your voice.
