Hello Everyone,
This week’s post is a cover of me playing guitar and singing *Lights by Journey* in the original key.
I am trying to improve my power in the passagio. I notice I could have more power in this song. Some of these higher notes are right in my passagio and my voice wants to break and create tension in the throat. I think I need to be more relaxed in some areas, but have trouble doing so.
I'm a high-baritone singer, but have a sound that can resemble a tenor. I want to improve my voice in a way that I can pull off songs by Tenors like Adam Levine, Steve Perry, and Mickey Thomas.
All feedback from a beginner’s ear to a skilled pro is welcome.

My immediate reaction, @michaelmusic was, "He's got this!"
For practice, how about taking it up a whole note starting at E4-F#4-G#4, "When the lights?"
I can only make that suggestion because you've worked so hard and brought this part of your range into an actual possibility! After a short break it may make the original key seem like a breeze while shedding light on how to navigate those hard parts.
Another thing that comes to mind is holding the hard notes and swelling them to be louder, then softer, then louder. Ken does this with Adam on the first Vol 5 video.

I like your tone. Nice job through the Passaggio. It sounds really good.
As Mod said, Steve is in there !
