you already have a good foundation, and good tone. you could benefit from looking into the concept of vowel modifications. Ken has some free videos on YT, and a lot more details in the course. the idea is to shed the "weight" of the vowel up top so as to not splat, and be able to reach the note in a smooth way.

in order to drive them into your muscle memory, you would need regular practice with scales. are you doing something like that already?

@Klaus_T thanks for listening and giving me your feedback! I will look into Ken's vowel modification videos on YT. I had been doing the warmups as described in this video:

    https://youtu.be/1D4KUjP-vOo

(lip trill, hum, and open 'ah') through my entire vocal range pretty much every day. I haven't been as disciplined about that lately. Instead, I have been doing those warmups to the tune of songs I want to learn. Should I go back to doing them through my entire vocal range each day?

it's up to you of course, but the best way to become technically good and consistent is continuous training. it is best to do these simple scales vs. songs, because they take away all the distractions and let you build muscle memory that makes the right techniques available unconsciously (after so and so many repetitions). practicing the songs like this is a bonus on top and not a bad idea. you can also check my profile for more ideas on what to practice, 30-60 min per day on scales would be ideal, 5-6 times a week

@Klaus_T thanks again, I am listening to Ken's vowel modification video now and it's good information! I am trying it out along with him:

I find I have to lower the key of his exercises because I am a bass. I will also check out the videos in your profile. It's kind of you to listen and share good advice! Have you posted any performances I can check out?

@Klaus_T Thanks for posting your song 'Roza'. It sounds like a true punk anthem to me, and your voice is powerful and memorable. You seem to have mastered putting distortion into your voice; congratulations! Please tell me about any other songs you post!
