How do you add grit/distortion in your voice?

I've been working on my grit in my voice.

But i dont know any techniques for it.

    it sounds good in terms of that it sounds like a rock voice. which i can't tell from the recording, but which is likely if you say you have no "technique", is that this might very well be taking a toll on your voice over time. at KTVA, we build the voice for at least 1-2 years to the point where distortion is safe. the idea is to have an open throat and use very little air, and just sort of relaxing into the grit, as opposed to pushing and forcing it. a lot of rock singers have damaged their voices by not knowing the technique. it CAN sound great with the wrong technique, so this is not an indicator for anything.

    Ok i dont wanna imitate rob halford just find my own grit. But it doesnt hurt my voice.

    In my case

    Step 1 learn tuvan throat singing

    Step 2 learn how to transition between a cleanvoice and throatsinging

    Step 3 place this techique higher

    Step 4 Experiment with your vowelshapes.
