How to do riffs like Cheb Mami?

How do I make my voice do what Cheb Mami does in the beginning of Desert Rose?

    I am no expert, but it sounds like a mix voice. He is doing it around G4 it seems.
    There are a lot of vocal effects on that part, to make it sound big.
    So if you're in the program and don't have that kind of mix going, you'll have to go through chest exercises first, then strengthen head and eventually mix them and try to emulate what he did. It will be a trial and error situation. Record and listen, Make changes and try again.
