You’re clearly a lot further along with your singing ability than I am: sounds really good to me!

I’m interested what your own analysis has revealed. In particular, what you feel you nailed, & then anything that might need more work?

    Hey Charlie,
    thank you !

I sing for quite a long time and I was experimenting a lot with different sounds over the years specially the last years while covid hit us and we have stopped playing live - I was not having fear to push more, that I will not sustain a live gig and was doing to much of hypercompression that now it is so dominant that I am fighting to use other colours I would like to and also feel a lot of unecessary work in my throat as this kind of singing is bit newr to me, I was using more higher larynx position with twang and distorion prior, I can still do that but not in the same way I used to as this kind of singing has affected that.....I had also two sessions with Ken over skype recently where we were adressing these issues, vowel placement and the open throat technique...and I can say Ken is a masterful coach, whish I could have regular sessions with him...

I’m just about to get to hyper compression in Vol 3! The key thing seems to be it puts a huge strain on your voice if you don’t have good technique. You’ve got a great sound, but if your voice is tiring, perhaps you need to work on the technique?

I agree ken’s got an extraordinary voice, & a gift for teaching. I can’t afford his tutorials either, but the course is amazingly cheap, given how much information it has. Also hopefully some of the experienced singers here can give specific advice.

    Good luck!

I am still working on my technique Charlie,
Ken was trying me to vocalize in a smaller safer places, as my voice these days wants to default into to much mass at the begginning and I am draging that further, that is why it does not feel very comfortable, so buidling my dynamics with better technique to overcome the tiring sensations,
and yes - Ken talks about that at the beggning of Volume 3, one must have perfect technique before going to HC as the feelings may confuse your body with something that is completely wrong and not open throat
wish you very best luck on your own journey Charlie
    :)
