Hi!
I have been doing KTVA 3.0 for a couple months.
My voice has become much stronger.
I might have made a bit of progress on my 2nd passaggio.
My head voice is still very weak, and I only have an octave of very shaky range.
I have a handful of songs I have tried to learn, but I think that is not part of KTVA 3.0.

I am getting a bit discouraged. The growth curve has flattened and I feel like I am treading water.
I am not even sure I am doing this stuff correctly.
I am thinking a mentor that not only helps me progress through KTVA, but also gets me singing some blues tunes might be helpful.

Can this forum suffice, or is there a place to look for mentorship?

Cheers!
Keith

How far have you gotten into the course, so far, Keith?

The course is your mentorship, not the forum. The moderators are volunteers who've been through the course and can give feedback, here and there, on things that may have been missed. Ideally, feedback is on simple arpeggios or scales that you've recorded and posted. That format is very revealing and efficient.

The forum is VERY extensive. I've been on the course for three years and am still finding helpful info on the forum and in the modules, which take quite a while to go through (typically years.)

In the course, you have access to many webinars that Ken has conducted over the years. Watching them is quite similar to taking a vocal lesson. Speaking of which, many students have posted their vocal lessons with Ken on the forum, so you'll want to look for them.

    Welcome!

I've been doing the course for about 6 months. One of the things to bear in mind is just how long it takes to develop a great voice, which is really another musical instrument. You wouldn't expect to be an exceptional guitarist in 3 months, and the same applies to your voice. In fact, Ken talks about this repeatedly, and criticises other courses that promise amazing progress in a short time, which isn't realistic.

In my mind, I'm expecting to have a better head voice and passagio in a couple of years, provided I practise regularly. But Ken's top students have been doing the course for years, so I'm not expecting to be anywhere near their quality.

A journey of 1000 miles begins with a single step. You've seen some good progress early on, which is heartening. You can listen to countless student videos to reassure yourself that you're on the right path. And then you need to walk! Continue on the journey with the rest of us!
