why mixed isn't cool as i though it would be lol

my head and chest voice doesn't sound that similar , when i sing some songs that requires belting in 2nd passageo it just don't sound right to me, don't get me wrong , I've been doing ktva for 2 years now but not consistently. so, i can belt in the second passageway area with my "mixed voice" but it only sounds good with open vowels

i sang hello_ dimash version here with less volume so i can sound similar to the original , what do you think ? sorry for the last note, i did it two times before the recording, it didn't workout in the third time.
i really want your opinion guys, and maybe an advice would be great

@ibrahim244 thanks for tagging me! I've been working on my upper mix and head voices. I definitely have trouble distinguishing my head from my chest when I bring the head voice down to the chest.

You belt in your chest. After 2nd passagio you are in head, so I don't think that's called belting.

Thanks for sharing the audio recording. I believe first we are lacking fundamentals here.

• Where's the breath? It's under-rated, breath support is absolutely essential for anything.
  
• "sometimes see you by my time?" not sure what you said there, but it could improve in vowel pronunciation a bit.
  
• Also at the higher part there, I hear a lack of resonance in the throat. Make sure you are creating more space by raising the soft pallet and dropping the jaw. This, combined with breath support will help give you more resonance and eventually a natural vibrato.
  
• Nice pitch!
  
• On the middle audio, vibrato feels a bit forced. Sounded pretty good though
  
• On the last audio, nice upper range potential! Notice the note cracked because it was lacking support and probably a bit of proper placement
  

Overall, I'd revisit Volume 1 LAH AH and breath support just briefly to hone on those fundamentals. Then I'd probably be around end of V2 in to V3 and be doing those V3 exercises daily to further strength that chest and head voice to help build that middle voice better to have more resonance and brightness around the notes in the passagio.

Hey @michaelmusic , thanks a lot for the feedback—I really appreciate it! You're totally right about the breath support, I’ve been slacking a bit on the basics. I’ll go back to Volume 1 and really focus on that.

The tips on resonance and vowel clarity helped too—I didn’t realize how much that was affecting my tone. And thanks for the encouragement about my upper range! I’ll keep working and post an update once I improve a bit more.

For only two years on the course this is excellent progress, @ibrahim244 !

Mixed is very cool so I disagree with your thread title. But it is hard to sing well in mixed even
after you can sing the mixed notes solidly on all the vowels which it sounds like you can.

Now is the time to really persist through the adversity and frustration. I'm on a similar part of the journey so am talking to myself here a bit, as well.

Mixed voice is definitely a cool technique, and I can actually use it much better than what you hear in this audio. I often get compliments like “insane vocals” or “you can belt so high,” which is great.
But as someone who used to sing everything in pure chest voice, I still feel like mixed doesn’t hit the same. It’s bright and powerful, sure — but it just doesn’t have that raw chest voice impact.
