Performance or Social Anxiety

I have recently been diagnosed with social anxiety. It has been tough for me to perform and I hate it. I love singing so much, but it got to the point where I just could not perform even for my family and girlfriend whom I've been with for 5 years. I'm currently in therapy and possibly medication.
I've read about big name performers that have had issues with this as well. I'm seeking any input from others in the KTVA family who can share any insight or stories of your own with me.
I really want to conquer this and I know that seeking help is the first step towards recovery. I see all these videos that Ken has and the tremendous skills that he teaches to others, but I can't find the courage to take a lesson due to my anxiety.
Thanks for hearing me out!!!

Have you watched Ken's webinar recording "Stage Fright"?
You can find the link in the Webinars section of the forums in the Post named Download Previous Webinars Part One.
There is some good information in that webinar that you may find helpful.
Many performers have to learn to deal with anxiety, but it is something that can be overcome. Most of us have a need for our music, so finding a way to overcome anxiety can be very beneficial to our overall well-being.
I hope you find your way to relieving this feeling.

you are from a Albuquerque right?
do you play guitar? if not learn some chords - and busk!
Don't play for people you know - play for people you don't. Busking is a great way to work on your act and overcome any stagefright.
