I managed to get a copy of this movie/documentary and watched it last night. Do yourself a favour and watch it.
It is the story of backing singers (typically african american women with that gospel sound) who have sung on the most famous records and toured with the biggest names in the world. Amazing historic stories, amazing insights, great music and most importantly some of the best vocals you will ever hear in your life. Unbelievable. Wow.
I you think you have mastered the voice dont be fooled. Watch this.

I watched this at the weekend and it was amazing. So inspiring, and every artist featured blew my mind. Shamefully I had never heard of Lisa Fischer before, and all I can say is wow!

Yep saw this on Netflix as well recently. Definitely a great story with loads of fantastic singers I've never heard of I'm afraid.
I wonder if one of their main problems was that they didn't master an instrument and/or songwriting?

Another good Netflix documentary is "Muscle Shoals". About a studio down south in USA with loads of famous Soul/RnB recording artists.
