I've noticed that when many veteran singers sing they tend to show their teeth a lot when they compress really hard is there some significance to showing the teeth and singing heavy?
See my response to your question about resonance. The back of the teeth are a resonance backboard, off of which the sound reflects and therefore is an aid to resonance.
You don't want the teeth to be covered by the lips, as that reduces the resonant component.
Look at Ken's face when he is showing you "It's the LAH!" He always does it with a big, bright smile.
