When is caffeine okay?

Probably not right before or while singing, but is it okay afterward? Or does it hinder the vocal cords' recovery?

Caffeine is a diuretic, and causes dehydration. So, really, it's counterproductive to your singing. So be prepared to drink a lot of H2O to compensate for any caffeinated drinks you may consume, and if you DO consume it, Afterward would be better than before.

That's a little bit like "Should I smoke cigarettes before or after my show?"
