Low larynx sounds and tongue placement

Hello users from the forum.
Well, I have the volume 1 of the KTVA program, and I have a few doubts, when going for those bright sound vowels, My larynx just shoots way up, is it okay to add a low larynx sound to the exercises to counter this? Also, I can't shape my tongue concave like Ken does, but I can keep the tip of the tongue touching the bottom teeth and not pulling back and swallow my own tongue but it's not flat exactly , when I try to concave it or keep it flat and down and jaw wide open, it tends to get really stiff and tense, whereas normally, it's soft and just sits there. Or should I actually try to keep it flat?

The larynx should be relatively neutral. It can move a little, but should not shoot up.
