"Its been a tough year health-wise for Kroeger and the band. Nickelback had already wiped out the North America leg of their world tour earlier this summer when its frontman underwent surgery for a cyst on his vocal cords."

    That is a real bummer. Vocal rehabilitation is often a much better solution than surgery. Your cords will never be quite the same after someone alters them surgically.
