I eat on-the-go a lot because I drive a truck. I remember Ken saying in one of his videos to avoid chewing gum, as that can coat the vocal cords.

I eat chocolate-covered Gatorade protein bars for convenience when I drive. Should I stop eating these for vocal health? Or can I eat them in the morning and do the practice routine at night without any deleterious effects?

Thanks

You won't have optimum performance with coated vocal cords. But you can probably get away with eating your chocolaty protein bars when you are driving your truck. Just don't eat them before you go on stage. If you're singing in the truck, well, then you might have a few chunks of chocolate flying around in the cab, but you'll survive.

In general, we want to eat healthy and stay hydrated. But we can indulge a little bit, as long as it's not to excess.
