I just have one simple question. How do I really know that I'm using my diaphragm correctly for singing? My abdominal muscles feel sore, I don't know if this is supposed to happen.
If you're new to using the abdomen/diaphragm while you sing, you will feel sore in the same ways that you will feel sore if you first go to the gym and work out when you are not really "in-shape". Gradually your muscles will adapt and strengthen. You can always ease off a little bit until your body adapts.
