Regarding the new USB version

I know that the adapter does not work with iPhones, but if I obtained an iPhone adapter, would the files be compatible with the iPhone or iPad? And could I put the watermarked course in the itunes of one of those devices in the way that Ken describes it in the IOS on a Mac? I ask that because having something so expensive without a backup scares me.

That should work, but as an added layer of safety (I work in IT), I always copy the contents up to either DropBox or GoogleDrive (which are backed up), and access the files from any of my machines via the respective app. That way if I lose the USB, or any of my machines croak, I still have access to those files.
